Shola – India’s jungle of rain

Running parallel to the west coast of peninsular India is an ancient mountain range called the Western Ghats. The southern part of this rugged range is drenched in rain for about eight months in the year. From fire ants to elephants, and pythons to giant squirrels and wild cattle the forest here, the shola, is home to an incredible variety of wildlife.
