At Christmas holidays around the world the reindeer have become an integral part of celebrations. Songs are written and stories are told. Few of them have anything to do with the real reindeer, and animals depicted are often rather red deer with some white fluffy snow thrown on top of them. The story of wild reindeer is very different – and even though many stories have been told about them, this film goes beyond the generally known stories about this animals and its history.
In this holiday special, the Nordic Christmas Gnome – the Tomtenisse – takes us on a journey around the world to find the home of a lonely orphaned reindeer known to the world as Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
